  • James Ramsey invented a steam-driven motorboat in 1784. He ran it on the Potomac River, and the event was witnessed by George Washington.
  • The paper clip was patented by Norwegian inventor Johan Vaaler in 1899. Because Norway had no patent law at the time, he had to travel to Germany where he received his patent in 1900. His U.S. Patent was granted in 1901.

Lion And Tiger = Liger

What happens when a male lion and a female tiger breed? A Liger - the largest of all felines. A liger looks like a giant lion with diffused stripes and some male ligers grow sparse manes. These massive creatures are 10 feet long on average and weigh about 700 lb (320kg). Liger love swimming - trait common to tigers but lacking in lions. Ligers have been bred in captivity, deliberately and accidentally, since shortly before World War II. The largest liger alive today is appropriately named Hercules and lives in Jungle Island in Miami.

Vitamin B17 prevents cancer

Imagine the world without cancer. It has been proven that cancer is a deficiency disease caused by the lack of Vitamin B17 (Laetrile). Today there are more people making money from cancer than dying from it. That is the one of the main reasons why Vitamin B17 is disapproved by FDA and cancer associations. You can do research and find that pharmaceuticals companies pushed FDA to disallow sales of raw apricot seeds in the United States. Raw apricot seeds are known to have abundance of B17 vitamin. There is lots of money to make from patented drugs and if we all start eating raw apricot seeds than there will be no profit. This information is not a new breaking research, but we are trying to spread the truth about Vitamin B17 through the Internet. This fact has been proven as FICTION. Please see the comments and draw conclusions on your own research.

advantages of chemistry

The advantages of chemistry are so many that it's impossible to give more than a brief outline: modern life as we know it is not possible without chemistry .Chemistry enables man to understand the properties of things surrounding him which leads to the discovery and development of things to improve or remedy his life. Chemistry improves life quality. Most medicines are due to knowledge of chemistry and we all know the importance of medicines for us. Different colours, perfumes, flavours etc are due to chemistry so chemistry brings modernity to life.

peace cannot be achieved by war

Those so-called intelligent people who think in this era that peace can be achieved by war are living in a dark room where no hole for light ,A light which enables them to see the real scenario that war is nothing except an activity which destroys everything .Not only life also soul get damaged by war.Everyone knows about the destructive results of weapon used in war they not only kill people in present time but also responsible for genetic disorders in upcoming generations.I wish that people realize that war can bring nothing except injured people barren earth, widows and children with hopes in their eyes to have family and good life.As we can’t get water from fire similarly we can’t achieve peace by war.I cannot understand how a country of higher literacy rate is unable to understand a minor point that war against GAZA is nothing just killing of innocent people how can they justify their this inhumane actIsrael' politicians for their own benefit and motives are killing people who have nothing to do with them and UNO is just a viewer of it ,they can provide medicines to the INJURIED, coffins to The KILLD but cannot take any action to stop this ridiculous act. We all are silent.Infact we all are materialistic human life is nothing just money ,status, our family and our life are real motives of our. There must be somebody to tell those ruthless personalities to stop war.Let us combine to realize them that they are wrong. We should boycott their products so that they should realize that they are not GOD of this era they are just human beings and they depend on other human beings.LET COMBINE TO REALIZE ISSRAEL HOW MUCH INHUMANE THEY ARE.by SOBIA YOUSAFi

Imagination

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For while knowledge defines all we currently know and understand, imagination points to all we might yet discover and create. (ALBERT EINSTEIN)Imagination is an art of imagining, or of forming mental images or concepts of what is not actually present to the senses, and the action or process of forming such images or concepts. It helps us to discover new horizons of world. In fact it’s an art of planning. Without stairs of imagination we cannot reach the highest floor of victory.Galileo at first imagined making a pulsilogium and he made that afterwards not only he but every great man in this world imagine first and then made discoveries or invented things. Without skill of imaging new things which does not exist in this world at present it seems impossible to make new achievements. We can say that making a mental picture of non existed things is the highest degree of intelligence those who dream are able to make their dreams truth. If I say that imagination is stronger than knowledge it’s no more wrong because knowledge is calculated and we are bound in existence but imagination is boundless its only kite which can be flown higher and higher. We all know that the brain is wider than the sky so a new discovery or invention can be planned in brain more easily than in real. Once a plan is made using this great tool of vision it becomes quite easy to bring that plan in real world. Not only in science but in every field of life imagination proves to be greatest tool of achievements. We all have example of Pakistan Allama iqbal imagined a new country and so Muslims of subcontinent became able to get a piece of land now known as PAKISTAN.In relations if we imagine building a strong sincere relationship it becomes easier to compromise for that kind of relationship and life becomes happy.Keep imagining ……………….By Sobia Yousafi

Secrets of Champions..........

Champions are not super humans, They just fight for one extra second, when everyone else quit, Remember sometimes one extra second of effort gives you the success….!!!

Happiness

Happiness is a state of mind or feeling such as contentment, satisfaction, pleasure, or joy.If you wait to be happy you can never be happy but if you start being happy you will be happy always. As ALBERT SCHWEITZER said“Happiness is nothing more than good health and a bad memory”.It is quite true bad memory helps us to forget bad moments of life and the wrong doings of people.Finding happiness is like finding yourself. You don't find happiness, you make happiness. You choose happiness. Self-actualization is a process of discovering who you are, who you want to be and paving the way to happiness by doing what brings you the most meaning and contentment to your life over the long run.If something goes wrong don’t get depress there is still something to be happy that is HOPE! .Hope itself is species of happiness its quite easiest form of happiness one can have.Happiness is not an aim of life its away of leading life. it’s not product of reaction of life its byproduct in making of something else.Simply if adults acquire a property of children and start being happy even at ordinary events then happiness would be everywhere. KEEP SMILIING…………….. BE HAPPY……..

ITS UNBELIEVEABLE

See this miracle...........its unbelievable!!!Surprising Rock A huge rock in a village of Al-Hassa region, SAUDI ARABIA raises 11 cms from the ground level once in a year during the month of April and stays elevated for about 30 minutes !!! They say that 17 years ago, one terrorist was shot dead behind this rock as he was hidden there. This encounter happened in the month of April 1989. You can see the fresh blood stains on the rock. Most surprisingly, when the rock raises from the ground, these stains become darker, fresher and wet. Local residents tried to wipe off the stains several times, but after some time it appears again on the rock automatically..... isn't it astounding ?

ha ha HO HO..................HOOOOUFOOOO

This is a true story from the Japanese Embassy in US!!! A few years ago, Prime Minister Mori was given some Basic English conversation training before he visits Washington and meets president Bill Clinton... The instructor told Mori "Prime Minister, when you shake hand with President Clinton, please say 'how are you'. Then Mr. Clinton should say," I'm fine, and you?" No w you should say 'me too'. Afterwards we, translators, will do all the work for you." It looks quite simple, but the truth is....When Mori met Clinton , he mistakenly said "Who Are You?" instead of "How are you". Mr. Clinton was a bit shocked but still managed to react with humor: "Well, I'm Hilary's husband, ha-ha...."Then Mori replied "Me too, ha-ha.."Billl Clinton :- " !!!!!!!!!!!!!"Then there was a long silence in the meeting room........ ....Slected by Sobia Yousafi..

WHAT IS STYLE.........?

By definition the combination of distinctive features of literary or artistic expression, execution, performance, characterizing a particular person, group, school or era.But I want to be more literary and philosophical so style is dress of thought as you think so u show.As Edward Gibbon said"The style of an author should be the image of his mind, but the choice and command of language is the fruit of exercise."We can elaborate our style by our knowing and practice but basic element of style remains same as mind of ours thinks.Dressing is not style it’s something else, it is custom of living area of one being. The thoughts are only source of making style. These are only origin from where ray of style emerges. Simply put, it’s how we express our inner being outwardly. Our thoughts emotions interests and sometimes values because values are imposed not original thought of a man so it counts sometimes. Our inner being decides our style and then our intelligent understandings of presenting things decorate that. Before writing this I asked my friends what is style? The all said the way we dress up I surprised not only they but many a people think that style is way of dressing but that is fashion or custom more than style.Style is different scene of picture it is the way we speak, treat others, solve matters in fact our approach towards life is our style. Education affects it but we can say that main root remains same education just sprinkle fertilizer to grow that plant.Inshort we can say that style is the image of charcter and thoughts.

The national flag
The national flag was designed by Muhammad Ali Jinnah and was based on the original flag of the Muslim League. It was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on August 11, 1947, just days before independence. The flag is referred to in the national anthem as Parcham-e-Sitāra-o-Hilāl in Urdu (lit. Flag of the Crescent and Star). The flag comprises a dark green field, representing the Muslim majority of Pakistan, with a vertical white stripe in the hoist, representing religious minorities. In the centre is a white crescent moon, representing progress, and a white five-pointed star, representing light and knowledge. The flag symbolizes Pakistan's commitment to Islam, the Islamic world and the rights of religious minorities. The flag is flown on several important days of the year including Republic Day andIndependence Day. The flag is also flown on the residences and motor vehicles of many public officials including the President and the Prime Minister.

NATIONAL ANIMAL OF PAKISTAN.The Markhor (Capra falconeri) is a goat-antelope found in sparse woodland in the Western Himalayas.Markhor stand 65 to 115 centimetres (2.1-3.8 ft.) at the shoulder and weigh from 40 to 110 kilograms. Females are tan in colour with a white underbelly and a pattern of black and white on the legs. Males have a lighter tan colour with the same white underbelly and pattern on the legs, as well as a black face and a large amount of long shaggy white fur on their neck and chest which can grow to knee-length. Both sexes have corkscrew-shaped horns which can grow up to 160 cm / 64 inches long in males, and up to 25 cm / 10 inches in females.Markhor are found at altitudes of 500 to 3500 metres (1,500 to 11,000 feet) where they eat grass, leaves, and whatever other vegetative matter they can find, often standing on their hind legs to reach the top leaves of trees. Markhor are crepuscular, active in the early morning and late afternoon. Females gather in herds of up to nine individuals and males are normally solitary.During mating season, males fight each other for the attention of females. These fights involve lunging until the two males' horns are locked together, and then twisting and pushing until one male falls. Markhor sound much like the domestic goat. The animal is largely found in the Northern Areas of Pakistan especially in Chitral, Ghizar and Hunza regions.About 2000 - 4000 exist in the wild. Markhor is National Animal of Pakistan
pakistan's national bird is CHAKOR.
Other common names of this bird include 'Chukker' (sometimes misspelled as 'Chuker'), 'Chukar Partridge', 'Red-legged Partridge', 'Rock Partridge', 'Indian Hill Partridge', 'Chukka', 'Chukkar', 'Chukor', 'Chukore', 'Chikone', 'Kabk', 'Kau-Kau', and 'Keklik'

The national anthem of Pakistan or Qaumī Tarāna (Urdu: قومى ترانہ), is played during any event involving the hoisting of the flag, for example Republic Day (March 23) and Independence Day (August 14). The Constituent Assembly had not adopted a national anthem by the time Pakistan became independent, so when the flag was hoisted at the independence ceremony it was accompanied by the song, "Pakistan Zindabad, Azadi Paendabad". Muhammad Ali Jinnah asked a Lahore-based Hindu writer, Jagannath Azad, to write a national anthem for Pakistan. Jinnah may have done this to promote a more secular idealism for Pakistan. The anthem written by Azad was quickly approved by Jinnah, and it was played on Radio Pakistan. Azad's work remained as Pakistan’s national anthem for about eighteen months.A National Anthem Committee was formed in 1948, but it had difficulty finding suitable music and lyrics. The impending state visit of the Shah of Iran in 1950, resulted in the hasty adoption of a three stanza composition by Ahmed Ghulamali Chagla. Initially it was performed without lyrics for the Prime MinisterLiaquat Ali Khan on August 10, 1950 and was approved for playing during the visit of the Shah. However, the anthem was not officially adopted until August 1954. The National Anthem Committee eventually approved lyrics written by Abu-Al-AsarHafeez Jullandhuri and the new national anthem was first played properly on Radio Pakistan on August 13, 1954. Official approval was announced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on August 16, 1954 followed by a performance of the national anthem in 1955 involving eleven major singers of Pakistan including Ahmad Rushdi.

One out of three Pakistanis have kidney Disease: Experts

KARACHI: Chronic kidney disease, a common medical problem is estimated to affect significant number of population of Pakistan where one in every three in the age group of 40 plus citizens is inflicted with one or the other kidney disease.Consultant Nephrologist at Aga Khan University (AKU) Dr. Waqar Kashif, in his presentation at a session organised by the University on Thursday said available studies identify diabetes and high blood pressure as the two commonest causes of chronic kidney disease. The programme organised as part of World Kidney Day, is observed for the last three years on every third Thursday of March, he said.Highlighting severity of the ailment, he said “If left unchecked, patients would ultimately need to undergo dialysis up to three times a week to stay alive.” Dr. Kashif called for widespread screening of those sections of society that are at risk of kidney disease, emphasising that it is essential to create awareness among physicians as well as the public. He said studies have shown that early detection and treatment can delay and possibly prevent kidney failure in most patients.Identifying key strategies, he advised strict control of blood pressure and blood glucose levels, the use of certain classes of blood pressure medicines, avoiding drugs that may cause further kidney damage (especially some pain killers), a low salt diet and cardiovascular risk reduction. AKU Consultant Urologist, Dr. Raziuddin Biyabani discussing renal stone disease in Pakistan said it was a significant preventable cause of chronic kidney disease. He said since Pakistan lies in the “Stone Belt,” hospital-based figures reflect up to 200 cases per 100,000 people in the southern regions. To prevent stones recurring, Dr. Biyabani advised treating and preventing urinary infection, increasing fluid intake, decreasing protein intake and eating in moderation. He also referred to varied treatments available for the problem and specially mentioned of endoscopy which is used to treat stones in the urethra and urinary bladder. Larger stones in the kidney can be removed with a procedure “PCNL” which involves approaching the stones through a small hole in the skin, he said.Diagnosis of urinary tract infection in children was said to be important for the early detection and prevention of chronic kidney disease in children.Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist at AKU, Professor Iqtidar Khan, spoke of early warning signs of kidney disease in children, which include high blood pressure, pain in back, puffy eyes, swollen hands and feet and passage of blood through urine. He stressed the importance of early investigation, on any suspicion of kidney disease or infection. Consultant Nephrologist at AKU, Professor Tazeen Jafar, spoke on key aspects of high blood pressure and kidney disease.●
